-

85, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. Donna was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Geraldine, Mont., to Russell Joseph Slowey and Carol Mae Slowey ( nee Webb).

Donna attended elementary through high school in Geraldine, Mont. She graduated from Geraldine High School in 1954. Donna went on to enroll in the University of Montana, graduating in May of 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

On June 6, 1970, she married the love of her life, Michael Joseph Holland. They embarked on a life that took them to many different places in the United States, gathering lifelong friends along their way. While Donna and Mike had no children of their own, they had unconditional love for their nephews and their families, children of their closest friends, specifically, Mary Graham and sons Randy, Joe, Mike, and their families; Lisa Gann-Downum and children Tyler and Ashtin and their families. Donna and Mike also had a very special love in their hearts for extended family, Brent and Stephanie Jensen.

After a trip to Bella Vista, Ark., to visit Donna’s best friend of 40 years Mary and husband, Ron, the Hollands decided to spend their retirement years by moving to Bella Vista, Ark., in October of 2001.

Not one to be idle, Donna spent her time and her skills as a CPA to do volunteer tax preparation for the residents of Bella Vista. She continued to help her friends with their taxes each year through the 2020 tax season. Donna was an avid card player with exceptional knowledge and passion for the game of bridge, playing several times a week with her group of friends. She also had a love for all dogs, cats and the many creatures living in Bella Vista. Donna was especially concerned about the many feral cats in the neighborhood. She took on the responsibility of capturing, spaying/neutering, and feeding those same cats all these years.

Donna will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and positive spirit. Her door was always open, the bar stocked, and all were welcomed by her beautiful smile and loving heart.

Donna was preceded in death by her father in 1962; husband Mike in 2009; her mother in 2013; and sister, Rita, in 2016.
