HENDERSON STATE 36, OKLAHOMA BAPTIST 34

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Henderson State kicker David Heaton kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Reddies to a victory over Oklahoma Baptist at Crain Family Stadium.

Heaton’s field goal, his third of the game, capped an 11-play, 77-yard drive from the Henderson State 1 to the Oklahoma Baptist 26 in the final 2:14 with no timeouts.

Henderson (9-1, 9-1 GAC) remains in the hunt for the GAC title and NCAA DII Playoffs. Henderson can clinch a share of the league title next week with a win over Ouachita Baptist in the Battle of the Ravine.

The Reddies, who trailed 14-12 at halftime and 21-12 early in the third quarter, took a 33-21 lead on a 17-yard run by Fredrick O’Donald with 9:33 to play.

The Bison used an 11-play, 58-yard scoring drive to make it 33- 28 with 5:54 to go, and after a three-and-out by Henderson, Oklahoma Baptist (6-4, 6-4) got a 46-yard touchdown run from Preston Haire on a quarterbac­k draw to lead 34-33 with 3:37 left.

Henderson quarterbac­k Adam Morse (28-50, 373, 2 TDs) threw his only intercepti­on of the game on the Reddies’ next possession and Oklahoma Baptist had first-and-goal at the Reddies 9 with 2:43 to play.

Oklahoma Baptist gave the ball to Tyler Stuever on three consecutiv­e carries, with Henderson calling timeout after each run.

The Reddies held Stuever out of the end zone on fourth down and took over at the 1 to start their final drive.

Henderson senior wide receiver L’liott Curry (10-155 receiving, 2 TDs) was Morse’s top target, and senior Duce Sproles ( 19- 100) was the Reddies’ leader on the ground.

HARDING 55, SW OKLAHOMA ST. 7

SEARCY – Harding (9-1, 9-1 GAC) rushed for 459 yards and 7 touchdowns, and the defense held Southweste­rn Oklahoma State (0-10, 0-10) to 7 first downs and no first- down conversion­s en route to their eighth consecutiv­e victory.

Harding scored six first-half touchdowns by six different Bisons to lead 41-0 at halftime at First Security Stadium.

Harding, the No. 1-ranked rushing team in NCAA Division II, has scored more than 40 points in each of its past five gamers.

Harding’s seven rushing scores came from seven different players, including a 2-yard TD from Cole Chancey. He has scored at least one TD in 16 consecutiv­e GAC games and became only the second Harding player with 20 rushing TD in a season.

A 28- yard TD pass from Preston Paden to James Townsdin with 5:11 left in the first quarter gave Harding a 13-0 lead. It was Harding’s first completed pass in three games. Taylor Bissell put the Bisons ahead 20-0 with a 9-yard scoring run.

Harding added three rushing TDs in the second quarter with Jhalen Spicer (2 yards), Omar Sinclair (36 yards) and Robert Wilcke (1 yard) all scoring.

The Bisons, ranked No. 2 in the Super Region 3 rankings, play their final regular-season game next Saturday against Arkansas Tech in Russellvil­le.

ARKANSAS TECH 56 NW OKLAHOMA STATE 21

RUSSELLVIL­LE — Senior quarterbac­k Jack Lindsey passed for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns, and running backs Ron Thompson and Keon Simmons each rushed for more than 100 yards as Arkansas Tech built a 35-0 halftime lead and never looked back against Northweste­rn Oklahoma State.

The Wonder Boys (4-6, 4-6 GAC) outrushed Northweste­rn Oklahoma (1-9, 1-9) 256-54 and outgained the Rangers 457-357 overall at Thone Stadium.

Arkansas Tech scored on a 15-yard pass from Lindsey to Caleb Stokes at 5:22 and on a 2-yard run by Jordan Edington with 32 seconds left to play in the third quarter to make it 49-7.

SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 31 SOUTHERN NAZARENE 10

BETHANY, Okla. — Freshman running back Jariq Scales rushed for 195 yards and 1 touchdown and also caught a touchdown pass Southern Arkansas (46, 4-6 GAC), which overcame an early 10-7 deficit to defeat Southern Nazarene (1-9, 1-9) at SNU Stadium.

Scales’ 12-yard run with 9:30 to go in the first half put the Muleriders on top for good, and Austin Wilkerson added a 40-yard field goal with 14 seconds to play in the half to give SAU a 17-10 lead.

SAU scored twice in the second half — first on a 30-yard pass from quarterbac­k Hayden Mallory to Scales with 59 seconds to play in the third quarter.

The Muleriders’ final score came on Michael Washington’s 45-yard intercepti­on return for a touchdown 58 seconds to play in the fourth quarter.

EAST CENTRAL (OKLA.) 35 ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 10

MONTICELLO — University of Arkansas-Monticello sophomore quarterbac­k Demilon Brown accounted for 178 of the Boll Weevils’ 234 total yards, but it was not enough against East Central (Okla.), who led 21-0 at halftime and never looked back.

UAM (4-6, 4-6 GAC) made it 21-10 with 2:08 to play in the third quarter on a 30-yard field goal by Cole Crenshaw after a 14-yard touchdown run by Chris Smith Jr. at the 11:05 mark.

East Central (6-4, 6-4) put the game away two fourth-quarter touchdowns — a 31- yard pass play from Taye Gatewood to Jake Berrey at 14:04 and a 5-yard run by Nemier Herod at 6:23.
