WEST FORK — Alice L. Province Brewer McConnell,

age 89, of West Fork passed away Friday December 10, 2021. She was born 1932 in Saint Louis, Mo. to Marion and Jennie Eldridge Province.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Delbert Brewer, and her second husband, Eugene ( Mac) McConnell; her brother, John Province; stepsons, Terry McConnell, Jim McConnell and Gary McConnell; step granddaugh­ter, Crystal McConnell; niece, Cindy Province Sakabo.

She will be remembered by friends and the children she taught in Torrejon Spain Air Force Base kindergart­en, West Fork, and Tyson Elementary in Springdale. She received her BS at New Mexico State Las Cruces and her master’s in education at the University of Arkansas. She loved teaching and always hoped she made a positive difference on the children that passed through her life. She liked telling friends that Jesus smiled on her and lit her pathway. She is a member of West Fork Baptist Church. She was president of Northwest Arkansas Gaited Horse Club, and a volunteer for many years at Washington Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her dog Bella; two sons, David Brewer of West Fork, Ark. and Mark Brewer of Springdale; stepson, Jerry McConnell of Fayettevil­le; sister in law, Rose Province of Caledonia, Mo.; two nieces, Tracy Reynolds and Penny Province Emanuel; 16 grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; and special friends, Karen and Steven Baker.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at West Fork First Baptist Church, with burial to follow in West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le.
