ROGERS — David William Turner,

91, of Rogers, passed away at home on December 11, 2021. He was born January 13, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George Spencer and Mary Ann Hugo Turner. David graduated from the University of Maryland, was commissioned in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam veteran and command pilot with his final assignment being Air Attaché to the American Embassies in Belgium and Luxembourg, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He later earned his Masters at James Madison University in Virginia, where he subsequently taught business classes. After full retirement, he and his wife, Jane, moved to Rogers where he volunteered for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital, served as a first responder for the Rocky Branch Fire Department, taught English as a second language to immigrants, and delivered Meals on Wheels. David was a member of the Elks Lodge, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree life member and 4th degree active member. David studied violin, clarinet, and piano, but was most fond of the saxophone, and loved entertaining with numerous groups throughout his life.

David was preceded in death by his two siblings, Paul Turner and Rose Govan, infant daughter, Catherine Jean Turner, and son-in-law, Daniel Colson. He is survived by his wife, Jane Allison Dunn Turner; children, Mary Allison Turner Colson, David Turner and wife Kareen, Alan Turner and wife Wilma, Michael Turner and wife Lisa, and Andrew Turner and wife Lynda, eighteen grandchildren, many great- grandchildren, and several great- great- grandchildren.

Rosary service 8 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at week day chapel with visitation following and Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic.
