CENTERTON — William Dennis Jackson,
68, died June 11, 2022, at Apple Creek Health & Rehab in Centerton, Arkansas. He was born January 15, 1953, in Bentonville, Ark., the son of Janet Arleen Jackson and William Edmond Jackson.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father and all four grandparents.
He is survived by his mother and by his younger brother, Steve Jackson (Debra) of Gentry, and his sister, Linda Dover ( Kenneth) of Rogers, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Dennis and his family sang gospel music as The Jackson Family for years, and performed at churches and numerous Walmart grand openings at Sam Walton’s request. They recorded three gospel music albums and performed at the old Ryman Auditorium at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Dennis traveled for several years with Funny Farm, a country rock blues band that he helped form, and he truly enjoyed entertaining the public during his musical career. He loved music and was a talented piano, keyboard and guitar player. He had a photographic memory and could hear a song and then play it by ear and could “notate” music. Dennis loved photography and fishing and enjoyed being out in the deep woods listening to nature.
A Graveside Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Bentonville Cemetery officiated by Pastor Joshua Babb of First Baptist Church of Centerton.
