FAYETTEVIL­LE — Carl Dejuan Arbaugh,

age 83, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday July 3, 2022. Carl was born January 24, 1939, in Oark, Ark., to Chester & Iva Arbaugh.

He was a graduate of Oark High School and received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Arkansas Tech University. During his life he was employed in various vocations including working as a retail clerk, farmer, real estate agent, machine operator, and owner of a country store.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darla Kae Arbaugh; two daughters, Carla Deann Day (husband, John) of Tulsa, Okla., and Jovie Lynn Swain (husband, Brian) of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; a brother, Ken Arbaugh of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; a sister, Judy James (husband, Sonny) of Clarksvill­e, Ark.; and three grandchild­ren, John Ross Day (wife, Mallory) of Norman, Okla., Brandon Tyler Swain of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and Seth Thomas Swain of Fayettevil­le, Ark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le where he was actively involved in the Wanderers Sunday School class. He was a country boy at heart, and he loved spending time in the outdoors, especially with his grandchild­ren. Carl and Darla were avid Razorback baseball fans and could typically be found at all home games with their many friends in section 101 at Baum-Walker stadium.

A memorial service celebratin­g the life of Carl Arbaugh will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributi­ons may be made to Central United Methodist Church, PO Box 1106 Fayettevil­le, AR 72702.
