age 78, of Johnson passed away Wednesday October 5, 2022. She was born August 7, 1944, in Winslow, Ark., to Orvil ( Strawberry) and Bernice ( Stanphill) Henson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Doris Lewis and Elva Vanlaningh­am; four brothers, Ornice Henson, John D Henson., Isaac Henson and Roland Henson.

Katherine had a strong faith in Christ and firmly believed in the power of prayer. She was a fierce patriot, loved America and served in the Navy. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le. She loved children and would frequently substitute teach art. She enjoyed nature, and gardening. She could find beauty in the broken and discarded, be it people or things. She always wanted to help others. She loved to sing old gospel music. Anybody you would ask knew she had quite the hat collection. She was a photograph­er, a painter and a poet. A strong, independen­t woman. She loved deeply, touched countless lives, and she will be missed. I love you, Mom. May you enjoy the Garden forever. You are Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Melody Bull; seven sisters, Mary Morrison of Washington, Becky Ogle of Fayettevil­le, Della Post of Pennsylvan­ia, Nora Merritt of Bentonvill­e, Dottie Henson of Winslow, Iris Collins of Springdale and Snowflake Henson of Jasper, Ark.; five brothers, Tom Henson of Prairie Grove, Michael Henson of Fayettevil­le, Matthew Henson of Fayettevil­le, Jim Henson of Grady, Ark., Ben Henson of Clarksvill­e and two grandsons, John and Bradley Bull both of California.
