■ Howard Hubbard, 84, retired bishop of Albany, N.Y., who has admitted to covering up for predator priests and has himself been accused of sexual abuse, has asked Pope Francis to remove him from the priesthood, saying he could no longer function as a priest, given U.S. church policy that bars accused priests from ministry.

■ Naomi Biden, the granddaughter of President Joe Biden, married Peter Neal in a private ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, the 19th wedding at the Washington presidential residence.

■ Alexa Guynes, a teacher at Dogwood Elementary School in the Germantown Municipal School District, was named Tennessee’s winner of the Milken Educator award, saying teaching is her passion, adding, “I love my babies, my children; I love coming to work every day.”

■ Kary Stackelbeck, Oklahoma’s state archaeologist, said 62 of the 66 burials found thus far related to the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre were in unmarked graves as the search for remains of victims has ended with 32 additional caskets discovered and eight sets of remains exhumed, according to the city.

■ Raul Labrador, Idaho’s Republican attorney general-elect, announced his office will hire two members of former President Donald Trump’s administration, including a solicitor general who will “ensure that Idaho’s interests are safeguarded against federal overreach.”

■ Brad Raffensperger said “this audit shows that our system works and that our county election officials conducted a secure, accurate election” after state election officials announced a mandated hand count of random batches of votes in Georgia’s recent election for secretary of state confirmed the Republican incumbent’s victory.

■ Anthony Heims, a Dallas police officer, was being held in the Dallas County jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after another officer was shot while the pair were off duty, police said.
