American Girl Dolls are at the Bentonville Library
All of the American Girl Dolls, plus some new ones, are now available for checkout from the Children’s desk at Bentonville Public Library.
The dolls are a part of the Library of Things collection. The Library of Things Collection offers lots of kits and items that you can borrow for fun and exploration.
The library’s American Girl Doll collection includes classic dolls like Kit, Addy and Molly as well as modern additions like Luciana and Benton. There are also five new dolls that have been added. The five new dolls are named Corinne, Courtney, Gabriela, Sarayu and David.
One of the Bentonville Library’s Teen Volunteers, Eekshita, designed the new doll, Sarayu, from scratch. Sarayu loves cooking, has a backpack and earrings, and is slated to have a special Diwali outfit included. She is the Library’s first Indian doll available for checkout.
Alongside Sarayu, the Library has another personalized doll: David. David was created by BPL’s ’s Tween Advisory Board. David loves soccer cer and his smart watch. He is also the Library’s brary’s first doll who has is differently abled, led, sporting a pink hearing aid.
If you would like to check out any of the American Girls dolls, ask your r adult to visit the Bentonville Public Library’s rary’s website and search “American Girl irl doll kit.” The dolls are very popular, ular, but you can easily place the doll you want on hold and get on the list.
Each doll has two outfits that alternate with each checkout. The kits come with a unique bookmark for each outfit that the patron can keep. They also each include a book, accessories and brochure with history from the dolls’ time.
