BENTONVILL­E — Fleta Roberta Forquer,

95, of Bentonvill­e passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022. She was born July 29, 1927 in Norton County, Kan. to the late Reynolds Heywood Johnson Jr and Ruby McCall Johnson.

Fleta and her family moved to Arkansas in 1935 to escape the Kansas dust storms. At the age of 16 she graduated from Bentonvill­e High School Class of 1944.

Fleta was also preceded by her loving husband of 67 years, Julian Forquer Jr; her sister, Reva Clark and her brother, Eldon Johnson. For many years Fleta worked for Tucker Abstract Co., from which she retired. Fleta was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bentonvill­e for nearly 70 years and was very involved in church activities. Especially important to her was quilting with the members of the Dorcas Sewing Group. Through the years, she made hundreds of quilts included in the layettes they provide to new mothers at local hospitals. She also enjoyed piano playing, cooking, delivering meals-on-wheels, and caring for her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Mark) O’Brate and Karen ( Greg) Clark, both of Bentonvill­e; two sons, Mike ( Barbara) Forquer of Bentonvill­e and Tony (Beth) Forquer of Ozark, Mo.; seven grandchild­ren; 18 great-grandchild­ren; church family members and dear friends.

Services will be held in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Bentonvill­e on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Visitation is from 1:30-2 p.m. with her Memorial Service following at 2 p.m.
