HAMPTON, Va. — Mary McKenzie Alexander,

formerly of Rogers passed away Dec 31, 2022, in Hampton, Va.

She was born to Gordon and Lorene McKenzie near the Bethlehem community in Benton County and grew up on the family farm near there. She received her education at the Burgin Valley and Decatur schools, as well as the Fayettevil­le Business College.

She settled in Rogers over 50 years ago and was employed at Food Town, Phillips, Food-4-Less and finally Wal- Mart, retiring in 2017. Afterwards, she moved to Yorktown, Va., to be closer to her oldest son and his family.

She had a green thumb when it came to growing flowers, especially orchids; and enjoyed arranging and donating floral arrangemen­ts for various occasions. She was an avid reader and fan of antiques. She enjoyed her travels whether to a good concert, Branson, or Europe. She had a keen interest in local history and sharp memory for the bits of it she had experience­d.

She was predecease­d by her parents, sister Charlene and brother James. She is survived by brother Russell and sisters Frances and Carolyn. She is survived by sons Jeff (Olinda) of Yorktown, Va., and Kevin of Americus, Ga, and a granddaugh­ter, Linda.

Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, with Visitation at 1 p. m., and Funeral Service at 2 p.m., all at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 W Hudson Rd, Rogers, Ark. Interment will follow in Coffelt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches, Inc, P. O.
