ROGERS — Nancy Williams Froman

of Rogers was born in Smith County, Tenn., on July 12, 1933, and passed away on February 4, 2023.

She is survived by two daughters: Dr. Elizabeth Froman of Springdale, and Judge Robin Green of Rogers; and three grandsons: J. Garrett Green, William Peyton Green, and William Blake Hudson. Other survivors include: her half-brother George Williams Jr. (Rita); stepsister­s: Eloise Epperson (Chester); and Carolyn Foster; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Judge Leroy Froman; her parents George Henry and Odelle Ford Williams; her stepmother Josie Tabor Williams; her brother Jesse Williams; and by her sistersin-law Louise Williams and Jean Froman Gipson.

After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le, and also her Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Nancy worked as a nutritioni­st at the state health department­s in both North Carolina and Arkansas. In 1966 she was the second woman hired by the (then) White County Memorial Hospital before it opened in 1967. Nancy worked as a dietitian there for 34 years, during which time she served as President of the Arkansas Dietetic Associatio­n and Chair of the Arkansas Consulting Dietitians in Health Care Facilities.

Nancy was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Searcy, where she taught Sunday School, participat­ed in the choir and prayer shawl ministry, served on both the Church Council and Lay Leadership Committees, and as President of the United Methodist Women.

Upon retiring in 2001, she faithfully volunteere­d at church and with the White County Medical Center Auxiliary. As a breast cancer survivor, Nancy also volunteere­d at CARTI and served as President of the CARTI-Searcy Auxiliary.

In 2010 she moved to Rogers where she enjoyed attending the school and sporting events of her grandchild­ren. Nancy became active at Central United Methodist Church of Rogers, where she was a member of the Cornerston­e Sunday School Class and prayer shawl ministry. She cherished the time with her family and enjoyed the friendship­s she made within her church and her neighborho­od community.

Upon a decline in her health, Nancy faithfully participat­ed virtually in worship through Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le.

A memorial service will be conducted at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2 p.m., with a visitation the hour preceding the service.
