FAYETTEVIL­LE — Sara Kathryn “Sally” Tamburine Rose,

age 79, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., completed her earthly journey on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Washington Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Sally was born on June 29, 1943, in Warren, Pa., to parents Frank J. Tamburine and Sarah Kathryn Groves Tamburine. Her childhood in Pennsylvan­ia consisted of a traditiona­l Irish-Italian Catholic upbringing, where Frank and Kathryn hosted many large parties, and holiday gatherings. She spent her teenage years living in Galveston, Texas where the family owned and operated a restaurant and bar called the Drift Inn. Her first job was waitressin­g tables, and she was not a fan of the breakfast shift.

She married her husband James Kenneth Rose on April 23, 1959, in Alvin, Texas. They moved to Fayettevil­le, Ark., where they raised their two children on Kenneth’s family farm. She worked for more than 30 years as a Nurse, an occupation that she loved and was completely devoted to.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frank and Kathryn Tamburine, her brother Jay Tamburine, her husband James Kenneth Rose, and her son James Rick Rose.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Mastalerz (Stephen) of Lincoln, Ark.; granddaugh­ter Hayley Ellis (Mike) of Fayettevil­le; grandson Justin Parker of Tontitown; grandson James Logan Rose of Fayettevil­le; great-grandson Jordan Parker of Alameda, Calif.; Sister-In- Law Wanda Combs of Fayettevil­le; two nieces; one nephew and many dear friends.

The family wishes to thank the kind, compassion­ate staff at The Brookstone Assisted Living, and the many doctors and nurses who cared for her in her final days.

A joint memorial service will be held for Sally and James Kenneth (who passed in December of 2016) at Fairview Memorial Gardens on Monday, March the 6th at 2 p.m. Cremation and service under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Ray Baggett officiatin­g.
