“I have had low back pain across both hips for last
2 months. It hurts the most when I turn over in the bed or after I’ve been sleeping or sitting for a long time. It gets better through out the day. Then, it’s bad again the next morning. What is it?”
Answer: Well, it sounds like your pelvis is locked up or fixated (subluxated) and not moving properly. This can cause a lot of pain because of the nerve irritation .A subluxation can be a misalignment or a fixation of a vertebra. Most of the time when you sleep, you do not move a lot. Therefore, your joints become stiff or “stove up” (as the locals say). Your muscles are tighter because they haven’t been moving around either. You may have caused this condition by sitting too much during the day, overloading your muscles during the day, sleeping in a weird position, or sleeping on a poor mattress. Basically, your pelvis is locked up and not moving properly. That’s why it hurts when you try to move. No matter what caused this condition, you need to be treated with body work because after 2 months it has not worked itself out. To treat you, I would adjust your pelvis using a special drop table or a special high speed instrument that minimizes force to your body. The adjustment will restore normal motion to your pelvis and relieve the nerve irritation. I would also perform myofascial trigger point therapy to release the tension in your muscles.
