SPRINGDALE — James Kenneth ‘Curly’ Bennett,

a ge 90, o f Springdale, went home to be with Jesus early Monday morning, February 27, 2023.

He was born in Hogscald Hollow near Eureka Springs, Ark., on April 13, 1932, to the late Johnny William and Mandy Geneva (Prickett) Bennett.

He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.

During his working years, ‘ Curly’ was a farmer, shod horses, hauled milk for Kraft, establishe­d a trucking company, and built custom homes. He was especially proud of the quality he built in his houses.

In his early days, he was a preacher of the gospel. His life became an example of the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. Restoratio­n renewed his fervor for sharing the love of God and the need of salvation to anyone who would listen. He never failed to remind his family to “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day not the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” Matthew 25:13 KJV

Kenneth had many hobbies throughout his life. They all involved the outdoors: coon hunting, deer and elk hunting, camping, and bass fishing. Whatever he did, he strove for perfection.

He is survived by his sons, Lee Bennett and wife Virlene of Lowell, and Robert Bennett and wife Lynette of Springdale; his daughters, Katrina Meeks and husband Jim of Springdale, Connie Moore of Berryville, and Teri Bohannon and husband Tim of Springdale; his stepsons, Terry Harriman and wife Monique of Japton, and Trent Harriman and wife Tammy of Elkins; and a sister, Berna Pace of Rogers. He is also survived by numerous loving grandchild­ren and step-grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

He is predecease­d by his wife Carolyn Harriman Bennett; his wife and mother of his children, Roberta Bennett, a son-in-law, Tim Moore; two sisters, Betty Brown and Edna Welch, and two infant siblings.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday March 3, 2023, at Westfield Chapel, Springdale, Ark.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday March 4, 2023, at Westfield Chapel, with Pastor Paul Payne officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Ark.
