BENTONVILL­E — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne LaRue,

a beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, and friend. Wayne was 83 years old when he passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in his home in Bentonvill­e.

Wayne was born on July 7, 1939, in Dover, to Homer and Sarah Partain LaRue.

He married the love of his life, Iva Sue Harris LaRue, on March 15, 1960, in Dover, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Wayne was a Telecommun­ications Specialist and a member of the Assembly of God, where he found great solace and peace. He had a passion for many things, including visiting the casino with his wife, reading, going on long drives with his co-pilot, Sue, going on long four-wheel rides, fishing, and cooking for his loved ones, as well as spending time with his grandsons and great grandkids.

Although he has left us, Wayne will always be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laugh, and his unwavering love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Terry LaRue and Carl LaRue Jr.; and a grandson, John LaRue.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Sue LaRue; his daughter-in-law, Angela LaRue; his grandson, Carl LaRue III ( Veronica); and two great-grandchild­ren: Kari LaRue and Carl LaRue IV. He is also survived by three brothers: Jess LaRue (Ruby) from Glendpool, Okla., Bill LaRue (Anna Faye) from Dover, and Gayland LaRue (Alice) from Dover; and a sister, Juanita Vanolen (Dick) from Russellvil­le.

A Memorial Service in honor of Wayne will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Humphrey Chapel, with Rev. Terry Duvall officiatin­g. A private burial will be held at Pollard Cemetery. An internet obituary and online guest book are available at: www.humphreyfu­neral.com.
