Golden Corral: a dining choice to please everyone

- By Karen Rice

Where can you get delicious menu choices that please even the pickiest eaters with a great atmosphere and friendly customer service? Golden Corral, of course. Their legendary all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets give you unlimited salads, entrees, sides and desserts to choose from, all at affordable prices. The only dilemma is where to start? Dessert first? Traditional meat, starch and veggies? A trip to the salad bar? Or a plate of just sides?

Golden Corral’s mouthwatering menu offers an amazing array of quality, made-from-scratch food freshly prepared throughout the day. With over 100 items to choose from, everyone is sure to find what they’re craving. It’s the perfect spot for a family with picky eaters or anyone following a low carb, vegan, paleo or plant-based diet plan.

What are their most popular dishes? “Our amazing pot roast and our Bourbon Street chicken accompanied by our awesome yeast rolls,” asserts general manager Joe Dickson. “Our carrot cake is pretty great, too.”

Joe knows what he’s talking about. His history with the Fort Smith Golden Corral goes back to the beginning.

“The Golden Corral here in Fort Smith has been here for 29 years. I was hired on from day one. I started off as a cook and have moved up through the years to become general manager here.” What keeps people coming back to this Fort Smith favorite? Joe believes that while delicious food and great value may bring customers through the door, the family friendly vibe keeps them coming back.

“The number one reason people come to our restaurant is the great food, but along the way they find hospitable service and a family-like atmosphere that is unbeatable. We want our guests to feel at home and comfortable when they dine with us,” he explained. “We want them to have a good meal, laughter and happiness. We want them to have a great time so they will keep coming back to see us!”

Originally from Van Buren, Joe has lived in the area his whole life and loves the people here, including his food service family.

“I enjoy the day to day interaction with my co-workers, guests, managers, and even the delivery drivers that deliver groceries to us,” he said. “My co-workers are my family away from my real family. I have always said that if one of us fails then we all fail, so I want them to be successful.”

The first Golden Corral restaurant opened in North Carolina in 1973. Nearly 50 years later, they have earned their place as America’s No. 1 buffet and grill.

Great Value for a Good Price

Their legendary breakfast buffet features cooked-to-order eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, buttermilk pancakes, crispy waffles, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls, and more. Or you can create your own breakfast masterpiece at their Omelet Station.

Be your own burger boss with their fire-grilled steakburgers served on their signature yeast rolls, along with an assortment of toppings that allow you to build your own burger your way.

For dinner enjoy homestyle favorites like fried chicken, meatloaf and pot roast, or their signature sirloin steaks, cooked to order every night of the week.
