SPRING DALE— Harold Newton Foreman Jr.

passed away on March 20, 2023, at the Circle of Life in Springdale at the age of 87. He was born on August 17, 1935 in Winfield, Kan., to Harold N. Foreman and Hazel Rhoten.

He spent his early years in Kansas and Oklahoma. He moved to Eureka Springs, Ark., in his early years and attended school in Eureka Springs and graduated with the class of 1955. He was president of his class.

He served in the Navy after graduation. After his time in the Navy, he worked with his dad in the grocery store and learned the meat cutter trade.

He married Jean Johnston in 1962 and they moved to Springdale in 1965. He worked for Harps and Consumers as meat market manager for many years, and later worked for Sam’s Club in Fayettevil­le and Springdale in the meat department. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold N. Foreman; mother, Hazel Rhoten; and stepmother, Winifred Foreman.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Foreman; one son Doug Foreman (Ellen); one daughter, Lisa Singleton (Jim); four grandchild­ren, Sydney Miller (Michael), Abbey Foreman, Jordan Bradford (Jade), Jacob Singleton ( Jennifer); four great-grandchild­ren, Cooper, Caroline, Wells, and Collins.

Harold is a member of First Methodist Church in Springdale where he volunteere­d in the Bread of Life and Daily Bread ministry. Memorials can be directed to the Bread of Life and Daily Bread ministry.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Springdale with Rev. John Fleming officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
