HARRISON — Alfred Joey Paul,

age 85, of Harrison, Ark., passed away in Bentonvill­e, Ark., on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The son of Alfred Jefferson Paul and Flaurra (Gaylor) Paul was born in Harrison on September 25, 1937. He was a graduate of Harrison High School. He married his sweetheart, Marvis Kay Jones on September 14, 1957.

Joey was a lifelong farmer and businessma­n. His business involvemen­ts included EA Martin, Mountain Processors, Wagon Wheel Realty, and Coffman Monument Company. He also served on several community boards. He was most passionate about his involvemen­t with the Boone County Special Services Board.

His greatest interests were his farm, riding horses, riding on his tractor, and spending time with his grandchild­ren. Joey had a gifted ability to tell stories, and most notably, spinning his many Joey-isms.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvis Kay Paul, son, David Paul, his parents, and his sisters, Vonnie Mathis and Shirley Ann Fenn.

Joey is survived by daughters, Melinda Silva (Tony) of Rogers, and Alisa Leard (Justin) of Rogers; grandchild­ren, Madison Mitchell, of Yuma, Ariz., Mason Mitchell, of Dallas, Texas, Jacob Leard of Rogers, and Isabel Leard of Rogers; brother-in-law, Jerry Jones (Bonnie), and sisterin-law, Gwen Bowen of Richardson, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Dr. Joanne Flowers and Dr. Charles Adair will officiate. Burial will follow at Warner Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral from 1-2 p.m.

Pallbearer­s are Vince Deaton, Robert Fenn, Chris Graddy, Jim Harp, Marvin Holt, Aaron Jones, Jacob Leard, Paul Mathis, Mason Mitchell, Paul Roten, and Danny Scoggins.
