BASEBALL

FARMINGTON 9, GRAVETTE 6

A wild pitch allowed Will Hellard to race home with the go-ahead run, and Farmington defeated Gravette in a 4A-1 Conference game Friday at Farmington.

The Cardinals’ win now causes a four-way tie for first place in the league standings as Farmington, Gentry, Gravette and Shiloh Christian all have 3- 1 conference records with three games remaining.

Hellard had a one-out single in the sixth and moved to second when Lawson DeVault reached out, then went to third and home on a pair of wild pitches. Another Gravette error allowed DeVault to score, and Kooper Beach added an RBI single to close out the scoring.

Beach had two hits and drove in two runs for the Cardinals ( 5- 5). Isaiah Larson had two hits and three RBI for Gravette (8-5), which earned a 3-2 nonconfere­nce win Thursday over Elkins, while Gunnar Woolard also had two hits.

HUNTSVILLE 6, PEA RIDGE 1

Jude Box had four of Huntsville’s 17 hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Eagles defeated Pea Ridge in a 4A-1 Conference game at Huntsville.

Box belted a first-inning double to drive in Amos Mayes, followed by Sawyer Owens’ RBI single to give Huntsville a 2-0 lead. The Eagles doubled their lead in the second with back-to-back RBI singles by Mayes and Box, then added two runs in the fifth on Pea Ridge errors.

Box also pitched four shutout innings to pick up the victory as he allowed just two hits, while Mayes, Paxton Harriman and Kolby Phillips saw relief action. Owens and Kaden Evans each had three hits, while Phillips and Mayes added two hits apiece.

FAYETTEVIL­LE 7-11, MAUMELLE 4-1

Landon Schaefer belted a two-run home run and propelled Fayettevil­le to a victory over Maumelle in the first game of a nonconfere­nce doublehead­er at Bulldog Field.

Charlie Graves had a leadoff single before Schaefer belted his shot over the left-field fence, and the Bulldogs added two more runs in the first as Zach Adams and Jaison DeLamar scored on a Maumelle error. DeLamar added a tworun triple in the second and Chayse Dutile had an RBI single in the third.

Easton Frazier pitched four shutout innings and allowed just one hit to pick up the win.

Schaefer also had three hits and drove in a run, and Henry Hanes added a solo home run in the second as Fayettevil­le went on to sweep the doublehead­er.

The Bulldogs (12-4) scored at least one run in each of the five innings played, including a three-run second and a five-run fourth. Hanes led off the second with his home run, while Schaefer’s RBI single and DeLamar’s sacrifice fly made it a 4-0 game.

Hanes earned the victory on the mound with three innings of work as he allowed one run on just one hit, while Keaton Combs and Blake Pennington each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

ROGERS 8, BLUE VALLEY (KAN.) NORTHWEST 2

Gael Salinas drove in four runs to help Rogers defeat Blue Valley Northwest in a nonconfere­nce game at Mountie Field.

Salinas’ RBI single began a five-run first inning after the Mounties drew three straight walks. That was followed by back-to-back RBI singles by Lance Wike and Madden Dillard, a sacrifice fly by Reece Bariola and a squeeze play by Zack Lawing. Salinas then had a bases-clearing double in the third to drive in Rogers’ other three runs.

J.T. Melson added a pair of hits for the Mounties. Salinas and Dillard each tossed two scoreless innings of relief after starter Ashton Chronister went three innings.

ROGERS HERITAGE 11, BLUE VALLEY (KAN.) SOUTHWEST 6

Heritage scored 10 runs in the first three innings and held off Blue Valley Southwest to take a nonconfere­nce victory at War Eagle Field.

The War Eagles (17-3), who had a 16-game win streak snapped Thursday with a 3-1 nonconfere­nce loss to Bentonvill­e West, took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an error and Brett Renfrow’s RBI single. Heritage then scored five runs in the second as Adair hit a tworun single, followed by an RBI double by Spencer Mounce and an RBI single by Ethan Martin.

Jack Hamm added an RBI single in the third, followed by Adair’s bases-loaded walk and a fielder’s choice by Mounce. Martin, Hamm and Adair each had two hits, while Mounce drove in two runs. Braxton Graber pitched 5.2 innings for the win, while Hayden Linton relieved.

ALMA 5, LAVACA 0

Piercen Howell and two relievers combined on a one-hitter, and Easton Daily drove in a pair of runs as Alma earned a nonconfere­nce win at Lavaca.

The Airedales (7-10) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning off RBI singles by Easton Daily and Nathan Machen. Camden Curd’s single in the second drove in another Alma run, then Daily drove in another run with a fourth-inning single.

Howell pitched five innings to earn the win as he allowed the only Lavaca hit, struck out five and walked three. Branson Brogan and Noah Likens each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

PRAIRIE GROVE 11, NWA HORNETS 1

Ryder Orr had three hits and drove in a pair of runs as Prairie Grove earned a nonconfere­nce win at home over the NWA Hornets.

The Tigers scored in each of the five innings played, including a four- run third. Asher Linn also had three hits, including a first-inning double to drive in Orr with Prairie Grove’s first run.

Orr’s second-inning single drove in Conner Hubbs after he had belted an RBI double, then the Tigers blew the game open in the third.

Caleb Carte threw four innings and earned the win as he allowed one run on one hit, while Elijah Byerley threw an inning of scoreless relief.

BOYS

HARRISON 3, SILOAM SPRINGS 1

Jack Fenn scored two goals for Harrison, while Stephen Kahn added a goal as the Goblins defeated the Panthers in a 5A-West Conference match.

Harrison improved to 4-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in league play, while Siloam Springs dropped to 1-10-2 overall and 1-4-2 in league play.

BENTONVILL­E 3, ROGERS HERITAGE 1

Theo Wadlin scored two goals to lead the Tigers past Rogers Heritage.

Jack Birchenoug­h also scored for Bentonvill­e, which improved to 7- 2 overall and 1- 0 in 6A- West Conference play.

GIRLS HARRISON 5, RUSSELLVIL­LE 2

Clare Barger had four goals as Harrison defeated Russellvil­le in a makeup 5A-West Conference match Friday at Garrison Stadium.

The Lady Goblins owned a 3-1 halftime cushion as Barger scored in the seventh minute and again in the 29th minute, while Marisol Hernandez added a goal 4 minutes later. Barger completed her hat trick with a goal in the 69th minute and scored again 2 minutes later.

SILOAM SPRINGS 3, HARRISON 2

Ellen Slater’s goal with 17 minutes, 13 seconds remaining proved to be the winning margin for Siloam Springs’ girls in a 5A-West Conference victory over Harrison.

Jetta Broquard and Clara Church had goals for Siloam Springs (8-2-2, 6-01), which moved into first place in the league. Rylee Myers and Claire Barger scored goals for Harrison.

SHILOH CHRISTIAN 5, CLARKSVILL­E 0

Bella Bonanno and Gabby Bradshaw each had two goals and an assist to lead Shiloh Christian past Clarksvill­e.

Blaire Fett added another score while goal keeper Brooklyn Bonanno earned the shutout in the net for the Lady Saints.

SOFTBALL

GRAVETTE 10, FARMINGTON 6

The Lady Lions jumped out to an early lead and claimed a big 4A-1 Conference road win Friday.

Gravette (9-2, 3-0 4A-1) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run homer from Kelsey Pembleton after Keeley Elsea belted a two-out double.

The Lady Lions tacked on four more runs in the top of the second. Drew Madison and Brooke Handle opened the inning with back-to-back singles. A sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third. Paige Greer reached on a bunt single before Brynn Romine drove in two runs with a single. After a pitching change, Laney Chilton belted a two-run double and a 6-0 lead.

Farmington ( 10- 1, 2- 1) sliced the deficit in half in the bottom of the second. Justine Davidson belted a oneout double and scored on a Kennedy Griggs single. Morgan Uher drove in two more runs with a double to make it a 6-3 game.

In the third, the Lady Cardinals moved closer on Katie Fleming’s solo home run, making it a 6-4 game.

Gravette answered back in the fourth, scoring a pair of runs on RBI singled from Elsea and Sydney Kildow to go up 8-4. In the bottom of the fourth Uher drove a two-run homer over the wall to make it 8-6. In the sixth, Elsea put an exclamatio­n point on the win with a two-run homer.

BENTONVILL­E WEST 10, BRYANT 7

The Lady Wolverines rolled to a win Friday by belting six extra-base hits including two home runs.

Jayden Willard and Eva Riffe each bashed homers and drove in two runs. Stephanie Crittenden was 3 for 4 with a double and Olivia Thornton and Maddie Axe added doubles for West (8-7).

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 2, ROGERS HERITAGE 0

Anniston Reith allowed just two hits in a complete-game shutout in the Lady Wildcats’ 6A-West win Friday.

Reith struck out five and did not walk a batter to help Har-Ber (9-3, 7-1 ) win its seventh straight game.

Emily Carpenter was equally impressive in the circle for Heritage (10-10, 3-5) allowing just three hits.

Har-Ber took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Zyria Palmer singled and scored, and added a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by S Woods that drove in Rylie Wolfe.

ROGERS 6, CONWAY 1 ROGERS 4, N. LITTLE ROCK 0

The Lady Mounties claimed a pair of wins Friday in tournament play.

In the opener, Rogers (18-2) scored three runs in the bottom of the first and that was more than enough for pitchers Ella Beeman and Ava Johnson, who combined to allow just four hits with seven strikeouts.

Kadence Janney was 2 for 4 and drove in three runs.

Lauryn Heinle and Beeman had two hits each for Rogers.

In the second game, Janney, Beeman and Johnson combined for the shutout in the circle, allowing just four hits. Johnson was 3 for 3 with a double and Janney added a two-run triple. Dahana Tuomala also belted a triple and Sydney Crouthers added an RBI double.

LAVACA 18, GREENLAND 8

Katie May was 3 for 4 with a double and four RBI to lead the Golden Arrows to a high-scoring win.

Lavaca (12-2) belted 16 hits in the win. Hannah Winchester drove in three wins, and Journi Brown, Shelby Wells and Mikyna Werschem all had two RBI.

Molly Meredith was 1 for 3 with two RBI for Greenland.

LINCOLN 4, BOONEVILLE 2

The Lady Wolves made the most of their five hits in a nonconfere­nce win Friday.

Brinkley Moreton was 2 for 3 with a double and Kristen Rhine was 2 for 4 for Lincoln (16-7).

Moreton was dominant in the circle, allowing four hits with 16 strikeouts.

Layla Byrum was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Booneville (9-7).

Lexi Franklin struck out 12 for the Lady Bearcats.

PRAIRIE GROVE 11, FAYETTEVIL­LE 4

The Lady Tigers flexed their power by belting nine extra-base hits in a nonconfere­nce win Friday.

Rhiannon Umfleet was 3 for 4 with a homer, a triple and a double for Prairie Grove. Chloe Hillian was 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBI. Kimber and Kinnison Hamilton combined to go 4 for 7 and three doubles.

In the circle, Hillian earned the win with 11 strikeouts.

Claire Chappel and Elisabeth Hampton homered for Fayettevil­le (1-16) and Allie Bowerman added two doubles.

VAN BUREN 10, SPRINGDALE 2

The Lady Pointers dominated the middle innings in a nonconfere­nce win Friday.

Ashlyn Michael was 2 for 4 with a home run for Van Buren. Jocelyn Parga and Kyleigh Kuykendall also homered for the Lady Pointers with Kuykendall’s blast being a grand slam. Parga was 3 for 3 with three RBI.

Ember Caldwell earned the win in the circle, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts.

Lauren Christy was 2 for 4 for Springdale and Tori Hennarichs added an RBI double.
