GRAVETTE — Floyd Laverne Graves,

age 88, of Gravette died Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center located in Rogers. He was born October 7, 1934 in Clifty, the son of Lula Pemberton and Floyd B. Graves.

He was a lifelong resident of northwest Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworkin­g. He loved meeting new people, and never knew a stranger. He was a Christian. He worked as a mason for many years.

Laverne was preceded in death by his wife; Carol Graves; one son, Michael Hilton; and his grandson, Steven Hilton.

He is survived by sons, David Graves and wife Linda of Huntsville, Daniel Hilton of Springdale, Bryce Graves and wife Kim of Neosho, Brent Graves and wife Candice of Siloam Springs; daughters, Cindy Armstrong and husband David of Ceneterton, Jamie Bentley and husband David, of Fayettevil­le, Michele Cates and husband Mark of Greenland, Angela Austin and husband Dave of Decatur; one brother, Ardith Graves and his wife Dotty of Seligman, Mo.; three sisters, Carolyn Fair of Bentonvill­e, Mary Settle of Salina, Kansas, Fern Martin and her husband Larry of Tulsa, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; 25 grandchild­ren; and 20 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 p. m. at Epting Funeral Home Gravette.

A celebratio­n of Laverne’s life will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Epting Funeral Home Chapel located in Gravette with Pastor Danny Valenzuela and Pastor Tim Trammell officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery located in Gravette.
