SPRINGDALE — Johnie Sue Wood,

85, of Springdale left this world to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sue wa s born on July 15, 1937, in Blue Mountain, Ark., to John Buford Marshall and Ophia Alla Loyd Marshall. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, and friend. Sue’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her warm and welcoming nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her devotion to her family, Sue had many passions in life. She had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers. Her cooking skills were unmatched, and her family and friends were always delighted to sit down to a delicious breakfast prepared by her. Sue was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lowell, and her faith was an integral part of her life.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Clinton Ray Marshall, Goldia Mae Beshoner, and James Doyle Marshall.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Wood, of the home; two daughters, Wanda McCarty and husband Brad of Springdale, and Lisa Johnson and husband Michael of Clarksvill­e, Ark.; one sister, Olive Lee Stephens and husband Doug of Fort Smith; two grandchild­ren, Thomas McCarty and wife Lauren and Kristen McCarty; and one great-grandchild, Finn McCarty; one niece, Stacy Stephens; and one great-neice, Addison Stephens; and numerous others.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Lowell, with Pastor Aaron Matthews officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

Pallbearer­s for the service will be Thomas McCarty, Mike Necessary, Al Rukgaber, James Ray Rector, Bill Tito and John Cole.
