age 90 of Rogers, Ark., passed away on Friday June 9, 2023 at Circle of Life Hospice at Legacy Village in Bentonvill­e, Ark. He was born on November 27, 1932 in Winterset, Iowa to the late Leslie Thomas Phillips and Lois Arlene Herren Phillips. Tom loved his country and proudly served in the Korean War as a soldier in the United States Army. He was a dedicated trucker and loved the open road, driving for Coors Brewing and Walmart for over 45 years. He also served as a police officer in the city of Longmont, Colo. for two and half years.

Tom is described by those who knew him as a honest, outspoken and hardworkin­g man. When he wasn’t restoring tractors, making improvemen­ts to his property, growing strawberri­es or spending time with his animals, he could be found relaxing at his “office”, also known as the Waffle Hut, with a cup of coffee. Tom loved his family and he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Youmans of Dewitt, Iowa; two brothers, Bob Phillips of Desoto, Iowa and Dean Phillips of Illinois along with his son-in-law, Rick Linn of Pineville, Mo. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Laurel Phillips of Rogers; his sister, Dorothy Jensen of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Cathy Phillips of Desoto, Iowa; three sons, David Phillips of Bella Vista, Ark., Aaron Phillips and his wife, Ashley of Bella Vista, Ark. and Darren Dawson and his wife, Lisa of Rogers; three daughters, Becky Linn of Pineville, Mo., Janie Polachek of Westminste­r, Colo., and Stacy Mays and husband, Terry of Rogers. Grandchild­ren; Emily Cantrell, Jayme Smith and husband Steve, Katie Dennis and husband Mike, Jay Polachek and wife Rachel, Ashley Linn, Espen Mays, Maggie Sjogren and husband Zachary, Mason Phillips, Oliver Dawson, Dalton Phillips, Jaiden Dawson, Conner Phillips, Morgan Phillips, Kaylie Dawson. Great-Grandchild­ren; Bailor Cantrell, Ashton Smith, Isaak Smith, and Peyton Polachek. As well as many other loved family and friends.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. Cremation arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home, (479) 636-241
