SPRINGDALE — Leila L. Pianalto,
a beloved member of the Springdale community, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born on March 11, 1928, in Springdale to William Marion Fields and Jessie May Riggins Fields.
Leila had an adventurous spirit and cherished her time traveling, particularly on RV trips. She had a passion for reading and could often be found engrossed in a good book. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, and she showered them with love and affection. Known for her cooking skills, Leila’s family was lucky to savor her delicious meals. She held a deep appreciation for her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She was a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church,
During her earlier years, Leila devoted herself to raising her children as a dedicated stay-at-home mom. Later, she embarked on a professional journey, working at a Home Center in Oklahoma City. After moving to Springdale, she found fulfillment in her role at Springdale Clinic, where she faithfully served for many years.
Leila was preceded in death by her loving parents, her first husband, Billy Bryan Edwards, her second husband, Oliver Pianalto, her beloved son Bryan Lee Edwards, her brothers Leslie Fields and Bill Fields, and her sisters Clara Wright and Nadine Holland.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki L. Ralph, and her husband, David, of Weatherford, Okla. Leila will be forever remembered by her three cherished grandchildren: Andrew Ralph, Derek Ralph and his wife Roxie, and Kacie Purdum and her husband Brant. Her legacy continues through her four great-grandchildren: Graham Ralph, Fletcher Ralph, Preslie Purdum, and Gage Purdum. Leila’s memory will also be cherished by her surviving brother, Jim Fields, and his wife Gloria of Springdale, as well as her sister Betty Reed, also of Springdale. Additionally, her special friend of many years, Autry Puryear, held a special place in her heart.
A graveside service honoring Leila’s life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Prior to the service, friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
