SPRINGDALE — Troy Otto Blackston, Sr.

passed away on August 6, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born on December 19, 1944, in Compton to William Blackston and Emmie Eoff Blackston.

He worked for Tyson Foods for over 17 years and then became a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctioning, and working on his farm. He loved to spend time with his family. He was always willing to help others out and will be remembered for his giving spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy Blackston; two grandchild­ren, Matthew Broadwell and Sheldon Broadwell, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Robert McBryde and wife Tracy of Forum and Troy Blackston Jr. and wife Kimberly of Springdale; two daughters, Regina Broadwell and husband Billy of Fayettevil­le and Rebecca Ferguson and husband Larry of Lowell; two stepsons, Richard Smith and Lester Smith; eight grandchild­ren, Tyler Blackston, Hunter Seay, Kenneth Broadwell, Cody Seals, Casey Ferguson, Logan Ward, Drew McBryde, and Teagan Blackston; one brother, Tony “Red” Blackston, and five great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.

Services will be on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Danny Elwin officiatin­g. Interment will be at Plumlee Cemetery in Compton at 1 p.m. There will be a Celebratio­n of Life immediatel­y following the interment for family and friends.
