Municipali­ty Resource Conference to be held October 24

Connecting Elected Leaders with State Resources

Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway announced today an October 24th Municipali­ty Resource Conference. Hosted by the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce, and presented by Entergy Arkansas, the conference is for all elected officials of Boone County and its eleven municipali­ties, along with their department heads. Hathaway said, “Local and state economic and business developmen­t organizati­ons will engage about what services they provide, from grants to consulting, to planning, subjects that are geared to provide our community leaders with the resources they need to make Boone County a better place to live, work, shop, play, and retire.” Organizati­ons presenting at the conference include the Arkansas Economic Developmen­t Commission and the Arkansas Broadband office. In addition to Entergy, along with the Northwest Arkansas Economic Developmen­t District, businesses invited to participat­e and engage with elected officials are Windstream, Cox, Ritter, Black Hills Energy, and North Arkansas Telephone Company. A special presentati­on on the planning for and economic impact of the April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse will be made by Kim Williams of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism. The conference will be held at the John Paul Hammerschm­idt Conference Center on the South Campus of North Arkansas College, on Tuesday, October 24th, from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
