FAYETTEVILLE — Frank Logan Kerr, age 86,
son of Dr. Frank T. and Elizabeth Logan Kerr, from Monett, Mo. was born April 27, 1937. He passed away on October 2, 2023, at the Circle of Life Hospice of NWA in Springdale, Ark.
Frank attended the University of Missouri where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and Drury University where he graduated with a BA in Business. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Suzann Harrison also from Monett, Mo., and together they settled in Fayetteville, Ark. They had three children: Kassi Faught of Conway, Ark., Logan Norman of Graham, Texas and Dr. Kirsten Kerr of Hickory, N.C. Four grandchildren: Tyler Grant of Denver, Colo., Chyna Faught of Conway, Ark. and Luke and Kyndall Norman of Fayetteville, Ark. Two son-in-laws: Jeff Faught and David Norman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard “Dick” Kerr; and his wife, Suzann Kerr.
Frank was a businessman through and through. In his earlier years, he and his wife owned and operated Lakeland Lodge Best Western in Missouri. They owned and operated Kerr Distributing Colo., while also building a long standing career of owning apartment houses, rental properties and real estate around the Fayetteville area.
Frank was a member of the Noon Lions where he volunteered countless hours for the Fayetteville community and was awarded the Order of the Silver Cane service award for support to the blind. He was a member the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, where he served as President for two terms. He received Voluntary Service awards from the Department of Veterans Affairs. He received the President’s Call to Service Award by President Barack Obama and the Arkansas Traveler Award by Governor Mike Beebe. He also worked on the Washington County Election Commission and was an avid Razorback supporter.
Frank was laid to rest at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. Friday, October 6, 2023 in a private family gathering. Memorials may be given honoring Frank’s life to the Alzheimer’s Association.
