SPRINGDALE — Douglas “Doug” Miller,

74, of Springdale entered into Heaven on October 22, 2023. He was born in Painesville, Ohio on December 6, 1948.

Doug was a graduate of Springdale High School with the Class of 1968. He met his high school sweetheart, Linda Harris, in 1966 and they shared over 55 years of marriage.

Doug entered the U.S. Navy in June of 1968 and was assigned to the Heavy Cruiser, U.S.S. Newport News where he served until May of 1972, including a 9-month duty in Vietnam.

After he was discharged, Doug and Linda lived in Fort Smith, Ark. for over 6 years, with Doug graduating from Westark Community College (now UA/Fort Smith) in 1975.

His entire career was spent in Purchasing and Materials Management.

Doug was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of NWA in Rogers, Ark. He and Linda served in the preschool ministry teaching 3 & 4 year olds for over 25 years. He was “Mr. Doug” to so many children who couldn’t wait to see him on Sunday mornings! He also served as a co-leader in his community group for many years.

Doug is survived by his Wife, Linda. They were blessed to be the parents of Clint (Molly) of Springdale; Kirk (Rachel) of Ankeny, Iowa and Kyle (Jessica) of Rogers. Their family was also blessed to be the “Arkansas Family” to their Razorback Son, Mark (Jacqui) Calcagni of Tontitown.

Doug was affectionately known as “Dig” to his precious grandloves Owen, Anna Grace, McCoy, Violet, Merritt and Archer. Doug will always be remembered for his quick wit and one-liners. He leaves behind his wonderful Community Group and many close friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Fellowship/ Fayetteville, 3447 AR 112, Fayetteville on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:30, with Mickey Rapier and Sam Hannon officiating and tributes by Mark Calcagni and Scott Linebaugh. Burial will be in the National Cemetery immediately following the service.

A gathering of Family and Friends will follow the burial at the home of Clint and Molly Miller, 3709 Silver Fox, Springdale with everyone invited to drop by. Memorials can be made to Fellowship Bible Church of NWA, 1051 West Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Ark. 72758.
