WINSLOW — Darious Nye Mullins,

age 87, of Winslow, Ark., passed away on December 8, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 2, 1936, in Spok Plant, Ark., to Clero Mullins and Alda Stepp Mullins.

Darious graduated from Oark High School and then graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellvil­le with a bachelor’s degree. He went on to the University of Arkansas and graduated with a master’s degree in education. Darious married Wanda Jamerson on July 7, 1956, in Stigler, Okla. He began his teaching career at Sunset, Ark., where he taught all the kids from first grade through eighth grade in one classroom. He moved on to become the principal at West Fork Middle School for many years. Darious served as a Justice of the Peace in Washington County for over 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clero and Alda Mullins; son, David F. Mullins M.D.; brother, Herla Mullins; and sisters, Dew Yates and Wilma Tate.

Darious is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Mullins; daughters, Deborah Mullins Watt and Sheila Heng and her husband Dave; six grandchild­ren, five great-grandchild­ren with one on the way, and brother, Loren Mullins and wife Wanda.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le. Burial will follow at Black Oak Cemetery in Winslow.
