CASSVILLE, Mo. — David Arthur Treat,

62, of Cassville, Mo., died at his home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, unexpected­ly after a brief illness.

He was born April 8, 1961, in Springdale, Ark., the son of Cecil and Chlo (Foster) Treat. On February 24, 1995, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Lori Essary, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Samantha Treat Woods, and granddaugh­ter, Lilith Woods, both of Joplin; sister, Donna Treat Medders and husband Howell Medders of Fayettevil­le; niece, Keisha Catron of Willard, Mo.; and three nephews, Tanner Thompson of Dallas, Corey Medders of Charlottes­ville, Va., and Jon Medders of Fayettevil­le.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Chelle Treat Catron.

While attending school in Springdale, he played football and played the tuba in the band. He graduated from Northwest Arkansas Vo-Tech with a CDL license. David drove semi-trucks for companies in Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri. Later, he owned a dump truck and backhoe and did landscapin­g in southwest Missouri, as well as septic tanks.

David was a master gardener, producing bountiful vegetables every year, including heirloom varieties. He enjoyed fishing, reading, picking the guitar and spending time with his granddaugh­ter, Lilith Woods, who was the apple of his eye. David was also very proud of his daughter, Samantha. He was of the Christian faith.

Go rest high on that mountain, David. You were loved and will be missed forever.

At David’s request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangemen­ts are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
