Cold weather calls for comfort food, and the best dishes begin with quality meats and seafood. There’s one place you can count on to find exactly what you’re looking for: Richard’s Country Meat Market.

The past 30 years have seen a lot of changes in Northwest Arkansas. But Richard’s has stood the test of time and continues to attract new fans and loyal customers. It’s an old-fashioned meat market in Fayetteville that’s the source of fresh meats and seafood, plus so much more to help you create culinary masterpieces in your kitchen.

Quality and variety

The large glass cases here display a truly impressive selection best selection of prime cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, veal, seafood and more. There are endless varieties of Italian sausage, bratwurst, thick-sliced bacon and more… all ready to turn into one-of-a-kind meals.

There’s no comparison when it comes to the quality you’ll find at Richard’s. Instead of shrink-wrapped packages, you get fresh, high quality meat, cut to order, raised ethically, and often sourced locally. You’ll find the best selection, along with wide range of items you just won’t find at the supermarket.

Their best sellers are their seasoned burgers (including a Bison Burger) made from fresh-ground beef, and the classic bacon-wrapped tenderloin filet. Add to that quail, duck, gator tail meat, lamb and veal. Plus, you’ll find a variety of deli items like head cheese and pimento loaf that aren’t available most places. And of course, there are soup bones for creating steaming bowls of goodness, or even giving to your canine friends.

Richard’s can meet your seafood needs as well, with 8-12 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available on any given day, along with an impressive selection of frozen fish.

Customer service

Owner Richard McGinnis has dedicated his adult life to providing superior meats and customer service. He started young in the food industry, and now has more than 50 years of experience from which he offers sage advice to those seeking the finest ingredients, recipes, and cooking techniques. The original Country Time Meat Shoppe opened in Fayetteville in the 1980s. In 1997, Richard made it his own family business, renaming it

Richard’s Country Meat Market.

“We pride ourselves in having top-choice and prime-graded meat,” says McGinnis of his steaks. “But it’s really our customer service and quality that separates us from the competition.”

Stock your freezer

Richard’s also has freezer bundles available…a great way to have top-quality meat on hand for all your culinary creations.

“We’ve been selling a lot of our freezer bundles because people want to load up,” says Richard. “We have five different bundles to chose from: Variety Bundle, Steak Bundle, Smoker Bundle, Deluxe Bundle and Richard’s special, plus 20-lb. and 40-lb. frozen packs of ground beef.” The prices for the bundles vary week to week.

Food to go

For easy and hearty meals anytime, Richard’s offers their delicious frozen foods to go, like lasagna and manicottis. They also feature 12 varieties of homemade soups in quart containers in the freezer, including vegetable beef, chicken noodle, lobster bisque and their gumbos and homemade chili. All great to have on hand for those chilly nights when time is short.

Bakery items and other delicacies

Don’t forget a loaf of delicious fresh baked bread to go with your soup. And there’s no better way to end a meal than with some of Richard’s delicious homemade pies, desserts and cookies. Plus there’s a selection of gourmet food items you won’t find anywhere else. And finally, you can’t talk about Richard’s Country Meat Market without giving a nod to their homemade seasonings - some 15 or 20 varieties of seasonings including barbecue, steak rubs and more.

Curbside service available

Customers can come into the store but the market also offers curbside service, a great time-saving option.

“Curbside isn’t going away,” Richard explained. “We’ve found that our customers really like the convenience. They can still come inside if they want to. But we also know that some of our customers would rather have the option.”

Just call to place an order ahead of time: 479-443-0000, and give your credit card. The order will be prepared and when you drive up, they call another number: 479-521-1464, and your order will be brought out to you. Of course you can also order ahead to save time and come inside to pay when you arrive or come in and look through the case and select your meats like always.
