Project timeline
• September 2014 — City Council authorizes a condition assessment report, remedial stabilization recommendations, historical report and a master plan with historical architect Aaron Ruby.
• June 2015 — A Woolsey visionary committee is formed. It comprises groups of residents from the private sector and public organizations, along with City Council, administration and staff members. They are tasked with developing the master plan and future programming for the farmstead.
• 2015 — Facilities staff start with temporary framing, securing, selective demolition of the potato smokehouse and brush clearing around the farmhouse and smokehouse.
• June 2016 — Aaron Ruby’s firm is chosen by a selection committee for the remainder of the architectural services, and the City Council authorizes the contract a month later.
• 2017 — Facilities staff stabilize and weatherize the farmhouse.
• 2018 — Drawing for farmhouse nears completion and meetings continue with the visionary committee.
• May 2019 — The City Council authorizes a multiyear contract for the architectural services for Phase II construction drawings for interior finishes, cemetery survey and documentation, smokehouse construction drawings, outbuildings, parking lot bidding and construction administration.
• November 2019 — The City Council authorizes a construction contract with Ellingson Contracting in Siloam Springs to begin the first phase of construction.
• 2019 to 2023 — The City Council passes numerous resolutions for multiple phases of construction as the project budgets are approved.
