Chad Songy, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in disorders of the shoulder and elbow. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he attended Louisiana State University (LSU), graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree.

After graduating with honors from LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine, he completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock.

Following residency, Songy moved to Rochester, Minn., for a year of training at the Mayo Clinic, where he focused on complex reconstruction of adult and pediatric disorders involving the shoulder and elbow. The Mayo Clinic is one of the only places that, in addition to its shoulder training, offers a true, comprehensive elbow educational experience. During this time, he published multiple papers to peer reviewed journals, presented at national meetings, and authored book chapters.

Songy and his family decided to return to Arkansas to join Wesley Cox, M.D., in practice at the Shoulder Center of Arkansas, which in January 2020 became part of the statewide UAMS Health system.

Songy has been in practice for over four years serving Northwest Arkansas and surrounding areas. He has become a referral source for patients that have complex problems requiring specialty care. He is board-certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

When not working, Songy enjoys spending time with his wife and three children exploring the trails and waterfalls of the Northwest Arkansas area. He has also developed a passion for long-distance running throughout the amazing local trail system. He has completed the War Eagle 50K ultramarathon and most recently the Grand Canyon trail rim-to-rim-to-rim in one day.
