Outdoor series growing for spring and summer

Stock up on the suncreen! Outdoor concert season is warming up across the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas. MUSIC ON THE MOUNTAIN — The series kicked off March 9 with Shannon Wurst. Concerts continue at 6:30 p.m. at Vesper Point on Mount Sequoyah with Jude Brothers, March 30; Smokey and the Mirror, April 14; Dylan Earl, May 11; and an old-school style Arkansas fiddle party with the Shiloh Old Time Pickers, May 18. Openers for the season will include Jessi Morrison, Sun Son (KC Floyd), Lillyanna, and Drew Hudson Rogers. All concerts are free to attend. In case of bad weather, events move to Clapp Auditorium. LEVITT AMP MUSIC SERIES — The annual series returns to the riverfront in Fort Smith at 6 p.m. Thursdays May 9-July 6 and Fridays Aug. 30-Sept. 27 with Genine Latrice Perez, May 9; B2Wins, May 16; Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble, May 23; Kings & Associates, June 6; Nadjah Nicole, Aug. 30; Eric Johanson, Sept. 6; LA 45, Sept. 13; Lola Kirke, Sept. 20; Larry and Joe, Sept. 27 at the Riverfront Amphitheat­er. All concerts are free and open to the public.

LIVE! AT TURNBOW — Concerts happen at 6:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of the month beginning in April with MEZCLAVE and Los Veleros, April 25: Shannon Wurst Band and Taylor Smith, May 30; Mark Harmony and WAIPA Dancers, June 27; Brick Fields and March to August, July 25; The Sons of Otis Malone and Shiloh Old Time Pickers, Aug. 29; Funk Factory Goes to Church and Arkansas Gospel Chorale, Sept. 28. In the event of inclement weather LIVE! at Turnbow will take place on Sunday.

RAILYARD MUSIC SERIES — The series returns every weekend from May to September in Rogers. Concerts start at 8 p.m. with The Cate Brothers and the Nace Brothers, May 3; Emmanuel Cortes & Grupo Del 4 with DJ Alfaro and Little Yei, May 4; Benjamin Del Shreve, May 10; Gone Country with Abbey Pierce Band, May 11; The Phlegms, Supermodel and Welles, May 17; Voltaje, May 18; Brick Fields and Dawn Cate Band, May 24; Funk Factory with Dane Eriwin, May 25 and Members Only May 31. WALMART ARKANSAS MUSIC PAVILION — The season kicks off with Hozier with Allison Russell, April 26, and includes many genres of music. Country superstars include Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, Dierks Bentley, HARDY and Brooks and Dunn. Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and Marilyn Manson are just a few of the metal offerings for this season. Indie rock titans The Pixies will share a night with Modest Mouse and Cat Power. Greta Van Fleet and Cage the Elephant will rock the AMP, and classic rockers The Doobie Brothers and Sammy Hagar, Styx and Foreigner will return. New Kids on the Block bring some ’80s nostalgia with Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Bert Kreischer’s Fully Loaded Comedy Festival with Whitney Cummings, Ralph Barbosa, Big Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder and Matt McCusker will bring some laughs this summer. Sarah McLachlan, Jewel and Melissa Etheridge will lead many a sing-along too. And “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and “Barbie The Movie: In Concert” will pair symphony and cinema.
