BASEBALL ROGERS HERITAGE 10, OLATHE (KAN.) SOUTH 1

The War Eagles broke open the game with a fiverun bottom of the third inning and improved to 7-0 with a nonconfere­nce win. Spencer Mounce hit a two-run home run in the big third inning, reached base all four times and scored three times for Heritage. Josh Hinds went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, while Luke Askew added two hits. Four Heritage pitchers combined to allow a run on six hits, while striking out 12 and walking two. Reliever Braxton Graber (1-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief. Starter Parker Morris pitched 3 scoreless innings, struck out 5, walked 1 and hit a batter. The left-hander also picked off three Olathe South base runners. Olathe South (0-2) got on the board in the top of the sixth thanks to a solo home run by third baseman Quinton Coates. It was the only run the Falcons scored in 14 innings against the War Eagles. Heritage blanked Olathe South 5-0 on Friday.

BENTONVILL­E 8, PLATTE COUNTY (MO.) 6

Bentonvill­e finished 2-2 in its trip to the Kansas City area with a win against Platte County (Mo.). Brooks Hasencleve­r had 3 hits and 2 RBI, while J.J. Spafford had a hit, 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. Bodi Gist had a hit and scored three runs. Boyce Read (3 innings), Luke Berry (2 innings) and Carter Allan (2 innings) all worked on the mound for the Tigers with Berry picking up the win.

LIBERTY (MO.) NORTH 5, BENTONVILL­E 4

The Eagles scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to walk off the Tigers earlier on Saturday. Liberty North led 4-2 going into the fifth when Bentonvill­e scored two runs to tie the game. Carter Nye had two hits for Bentonvill­e, while J.J. Spafford, Eli McCall, Casey Christ and Que Brown all drove in a run. Nye (2.1 innings), McCall (2.2) and Connor Adair (1.2) all worked on the mound.

SOFTBALL FARMINGTON 8, SPRINGDALE HARBER 6

Mallory Sills hit a walk-off threerun home run to give the Lady Cardinals a victory in the championsh­ip game of the Farmington Invitation­al. Farmington trailed 6-1 entering the bottom of the fifth of the time-limit game, and the Cardinals scored 7 in the fifth. Morgan Uher hit a three-run home run earlier in the inning to pull Farmington within 6-4. The Lady Cardinals got within 6-5 with two on base to set up Sills’ game-winner. Justine Davidson had three hits and scored a run for Farmington, while Amia Carr scored two runs. Savannah Woods, Brylie Bratcher each had two hits for Har-Ber while Ryli Wolfe had a hit and two RBI.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 4, GRAVETTE 1

The Lady Wildcats defeated Gravette earlier on Saturday to advance to the championsh­ip game. Cyarah Dotts, Bell Haney, Xiomara Sanchez and Ryli Wolfe each had two hits for Har-Ber. Dotts worked a complete game in the circle with three strikeouts. Dotts, Jasmine Thomas and Sanchez each had an RBI for Har-Ber. Brooke Handle gave up two earned runs in 4.1 innings of work for

the Lady Lions. BENTONVILL­E 2, CABOT 0

Ryann Sanders threw a complete game shutout and the Lady Tigers plated two runs to defeat Cabot in the championsh­ip of the Harrison Tournament at Equity Bank Sports Complex. Bentonvill­e scored a run in the top of the first when Kylee Wyman doubled to score Amber Turner. The score remained 1-0 until the fifth when Bella Mears scored on a bunt single from Anna Lee Kulka. Alexis Lorennij, Wyman and Ava Stimis each had two hits for Bentonvill­e. Sanders had five strikeouts and gave up eight hits. Addison Cooper, Addison Fulbright and Mileena Poe each had two hits to lead Cabot. Cooper took the loss in the circle for Cabot.

BENTONVILL­E 19, DOVER 0

The Lady Tigers opened up the Harrison Tournament with a mercy-rule victory over the Lady Pirates on Saturday morning. Bentonvill­e scored 6 runs in the first, 3 in the second and 10 in the fourth on 15 hits. Taylor Chrisp led Bentonvill­e with 3 hits, 2 runs and an RBI. Marissa Gianneschi had 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 RBI. Kylee Wyman (2 hits, 2 runs), Bella Mears (run, 4 RBI), Amber Turner and Alexis Lorennij (run, 2 RBI) each had two hits. Lilly Hagedorn threw a four-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks.

FRIDAY’S GAMES

GIRLS SOCCER BENTONVILL­E 4, SPRINGFIEL­D (MO.) KICKAPOO 0

Bentonvill­e picked up a shutout victory against Springfiel­d (Mo.) Kickapoo. Kayla Hurley and Devyn O’Daniel each scored two goals for the Lady Tigers (6-2).
