BASEBALL

FAYETTEVIL­LE 8, BENTON 1 Fayettevil­le needed just two innings to build a 6-0 lead and extended its win streak to 11 games with a victory at home over Benton. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Carter Morris and Eli Patrick, while Charlie Graves’ tworun double sparked a fourrun second as Morris added a sacrifice fly and Jaison DeLamar had an RBI single. Charlie Garton had two hits for Fayettevil­le, while Morris finished with three RBI. Four pitchers, meanwhile, combined on a four-hitter.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 12, SALINA, KAN. 4 HarBer scored at least one run in each time at bat, and the Wildcats went on to claim a nonconfere­nce victory at home over Salina. Dylan Gibson had two hits and drove in four runs for Har-Ber, including a two-run single in the first inning. He also singled in two more runs in the fourth. Kaleb Ceola had three hits and drove in a run for HarBer, while Luke Altom added two hits and two RBI to aid to the team’s 13-hit attack. Zach Brinegar also drove in two runs. Rhett Richardson threw four innings and picked up the win as he allowed only one run on three hits.

FRIDAY’S LATE GAMES

BASEBALL

ALMA 11, LAVACA 0 Alma did all of its scoring in the second and third innings and rolled to a nonconfere­nce win at home over Lavaca. The Airedales (8-9) struck for six runs in the second as Colby Kimmons had a two-run double, followed by Brayden Driscoll’s two-run single and Branson Brogan’s two-run triple. The Airedales added five more in the third, highlighte­d by Michael Taylor’s three-run home run. Kimmons, Easton Daily and Camden Curd had two hits apiece for Alma. Eli Risley threw four shutout innings and picked up the win, while Driscoll threw a scoreless fifth.

FAYETTEVIL­LE 4, MAUMELLE 3 Jaison DeLamar’s seventh-inning single drove in Kamden Rogerson with the winning run as Fayettevil­le rallied to defeat Maumelle in nonconfere­nce action at Bulldog Field. The Bulldogs (14-2) trailed 3-2 to start the bottom of the seventh, but Chayse Dutile reached on an error and moved to second on Rogerson’s bunt single. Charlie Graves walked to load the bases before Carter Morris’ single scored Dutile and tied the game, then DeLamar singled one out later. The game-winning hit capped a four-hit outing for DeLamar and extended Fayettevil­le’s win streak to 10 game. Morris also had a pair of hits.

GRAVETTE 14, BERRYVILLE 1 Kyle Murphy had two hits and drove in three runs during a 10-run first inning as Gravette rolled to a 4A-1 Conference victory at Berryville. Murphy’s first single drove in Gunnar Woolard for the Lions’ first run, then his second single of the inning drove in two runs and another run scored on an error and made it a 9-0 game. Murphy finished with four hits, including a tworun home run in the third, and drove in six runs for Gravette (15-4, 3-1). Hudson Harris added two hits and two RBI, while Logan Renfro added two hits and drove in a run and Kash May had two RBI. Holden Betz picked up the win as he allowed just three hits over five innings and struck out four.

HUNTSVILLE 6, GENTRY 5 Jaxon Ferguson’s fifth-inning double drove in Kaden Evans with the decisive run as Huntsville rallied to defeat Gentry in a 4A-1 Conference game at Gentry. The Eagles (15-3, 3-1) trailed 5-2 before Brady Bolinger’s single drove in Kolby Phillips and began the fifth-inning comeback. Sawyer Owens’ groundout allowed a run to score, then Evans tied the game with his RBI single and stole second to set up Ferguson. Ferguson had a two-run double in the fourth for Huntsville’s other runs, while Evans also had two hits. Bennett Roberts had two hits and drove in three runs to lead Gentry.

NIXA, MO. 5, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 4 Nixa scored two runs in each of the first two innings and went on defeat Har-Ber and end the Wildcats’ 13-game win streak. Har-Ber (14-4) pulled within 4-3 in the bottom of the second as Caleb Smith had an RBI double, then Dylan Gibson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded before Braden Sprague drew a bases-loaded walk. Nixa, however, added a run in the third and made it a 5-3 game before the Wildcats scored their final run on Sprague’s sacrifice fly. HarBer had just three hits in the game, while Drew Crowley threw four scoreless innings in relief for the Wildcats.

PEA RIDGE 11, PRAIRIE GROVE 5 Pea Ridge did all of its scoring over the final three innings and defeated Prairie Grove in a 4A-1 Conference game at Prairie Grove. The Blackhawks erased a 1-0 deficit with four runs in the fifth, then Jake Ryals belted a tworun double in the sixth before Jaxon Stewart’s grand slam highlighte­d Pea Ridge’s fiverun seventh. Jacob Ogburn had two hits for Pea Ridge. Luke Vance had two hits and Conner Hubbs drove in a pair of runs for Prairie Grove.

ROGERS 3, SPRINGFIEL­D (MO.) KICKAPOO 2 (8) Hudson Henagan’s eighth-inning sacrifice fly drove in Zach Lawing with the winning run as Rogers slipped past Kickapoo in nonconfere­nce play at Mountie Field. Lawing started the bottom of the eighth with a single and went to second on Reece Bariola’s groundout. Aidan Linson was intentiona­lly walked to set up a possible double play, but Lawing foiled the strategy when he stole third to set up Henagan, who lofted a fly ball to center and allowed Lawing to tag and score. The Mounties had tied the game in the sixth when Lawing’s first single scored Jacob Watson. Linson, the third Rogers pitcher, threw three innings of one-hit relief and picked up the victory.

SHILOH CHRISTIAN 9, FARMINGTON 4 Shiloh Christian jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never let up as the Saints claimed a 4A-1 Conference victory at Farmington. The Saints (8-4-1, 3-1) added to their cushion with two runs in the third and solo tallies in the fourth and fifth innings before scoring twice in the seventh. Three Shiloh Christian pitchers kept Farmington scoreless before the Cardinals put up four in the bottom of the seventh. AJ Ylanan had two hits and drive in two runs for the Saints. Brock Billingsle­y, Connor Shockley and Blake Ward each had two hits while Bowen Gillison and Alexander Salter had two RBI apiece.

GIRLS SOCCER

BENTONVILL­E 4, ROGERS HERITAGE 0 Kayla Hurley scored two goals and Sydney Hopper and Devyn O’Daniel each added goals for the Lady Tigers (9-2-1, 1-0-1), who picked up the 6A-West Conference victory. The Lady War Eagles fell to 6-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in league play.

SHILOH CHRISTIAN 10, BERRYVILLE 2 Bella Bonanno and freshman Lillian Hewitt scored three goals apiece to lead Shiloh Christian past Berryville. It was the third straight hat trick for Bonanno, a junior. Addison Reagor, Maggie Massey, Gabby Bradshaw, and Blaire Fett also scored for the Lady Saints (4-1-1, 3-0 4A-1 Conference).
