PEA RIDGE — Our beloved mother and grandmother,

-

Helen Adams, 82, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born in Lake Mills, Iowa, on July 24, 1941, to Daniel and Hilda Cleven. She grew up in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where she married her high school love, Larry (Sam) Adams.

Helen graduated from the State of Minnesota Board of Nursing in 1971 in Rochester, Minn., where she began working at the Mayo Clinic. Helen worked as an orthopedic and ER nurse for 13 years while raising her three children in St. Charles, Minn. In 1984 she headed south and landed in northwest Arkansas where she was able to continue her nursing career in the claims and administration department for Walmart in Bentonville, Ark., creating a 35-year career for herself.

The core of Helen’s life was her family. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was never one to miss any event and was very active in their lives. She was always their biggest (and loudest) cheerleader. An avid Razorback fan, she loved to garden, be involved in her church, and shop the discount aisle frequently. Her passion for caring for others nev- er stopped. She had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and her two brothers, Lloyd Cleven and Roger Cleven of Iowa.

She is survived by her three children, Marty Adams (Bethanne), Doug Adams (Anita), Lori Lunsford (Mark); her nine grandchildren, Lyndsey Bucholz, Sarah Stovern, Betsy Adams, Hanna Taylor, Vaughan Coffee, Michael Lunsford, Alex Adams, Jacob Adams, Joseph Adams; and nine great-grandchildren, Lillian, Everett, Wyatt, William, Tristan, James, Lauryn, Taylor, and Rebecca.

A celebration of her life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Pea Ridge, Ark. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11 a.m.

“A Mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.” — Cardinal Mermillod.
