Caldwell got the first run of the game in the top of third inning. Mason Lyda drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a ground ball and then to third on a wild pitch. Jacob

Bebber got a two-out RBI single to plate Lyda.

The Cobras added three runs in the fifth inning. Michael Logan hit a two RBI double, and Tyler Bradley would add an RBI single. The Cobras would score 12 runs in the top of the sixth inning; Bebber had a three-run homerun, Jermie Greene had a three RBI double, Kayl Ratliff had an RBI single, and Cameron Pyle had an RBI double. Bebber led the team with five RBI.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the second inning, Mason Lyda got an RBI single to plate Hayden Setzer and tie the game. Gardner-Webb would score two in the bottom of the second to regain the lead, but the Cobras would answer with eight runs in the top of the third to take control of the game. Easton Rhoney got an RBI single to draw the Cobras within one run. Tyler Bradley would get an two RBI triple as Caldwell took a 4-3 lead. Setzer would get his second RBI of the game on a double. Mason Lyda had an RBI single. The Cobras final three runs of the inning came on a Steven Smith three-RBI homerun.

The Cobras would score three runs in the top of the seventh; Smith would score on a wild pitch followed by Bradley with a two RBI double. Bradley finished with four RBI.

Record: Caldwell is 34-7 on the season. They return to action on Saturday, hosting Rockingham for a Region 10 doublehead­er starting at 1PM.
