MARY CARPENTER BANNER

Mary Carpenter Banner,

86, of Lincolnton passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory.

She was born November 1,

1935 in Avery County to the late Earl Carpenter Sr. and

Alice Haga Carpenter. Mary was a member of Tri-City

Baptist Church in Conover and retired from the textile industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Carpenter and Earl Lee Carpenter Jr.; and sister, Louise C. Banner.

Those left to cherish her memory are;

Her husband of 64 ½ years: Ford Banner Jr. of the home

Son: Randy Banner and wife Cathy of Conover Daughter: Julie Green and husband Bryan of Rocky Mount

Sister: Barbara Daniels and husband Joe of Newland Grandchildren: Matthew Banner and wife Jane of Arlington, MA, Christina Pettus and husband Casey of Lincolnton, Jonathan Banner of Newton, Landon Green of Rocky Mount, and Cassidy Green of Rocky Mount

A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover. Rev. Hampton Drum will officiate. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Tri-City Baptist Church. Those serving as pallbearers are Jonathan Banner, Landon Green, Casey Pettus, Lynn Church, Ethan Church, and Eli Church.
