Conover Farmers’ Market opens for the season
This year marks the 15th year of the Conover Farmers’ Market, and is “a weekly celebration of the abundance surrounding Conover, and an opportunity to meet your farmer and get involved in the community,” according to their website.
Many vendors were present for the grand opening, including Roaming Bee Apiaries, 3:19 Farm and Outdoors, and Sweetie Pie. In attendance was also music by Chad Ritchey and Friends from Taylorsville and Fatcat Coffee Food Truck, which served coffee, teas, smoothies, and breakfast pastries.
According to their newsletter, “Our market is committed to continue to bring you the best of our region. You can rest assured Conover Farmers Market ONLY
offers fresh, local produce and goods. You won’t find any wholesale here! Check our Facebook page for weekly updates on product availability.”
There are about 15-18 vendors each week on average. The market will host a craft sale in the fall. They will also have more community collaboration this year, with visits from various organizations, such as the Catawba County Library To Go Mobile and musicians.
On May 21st, the market will host “music for baby boomers” and Catawba County Library’s Library to go.
The market occurs every Saturday between May 7th-August 27th 8:00am12:00pm, rain or shine. It is located in the Conover Post Office parking lot.
