2 residents charged with trafficking
On Saturday, May 14th, 2022, Investigators with Catawba County Sheriff ’s Office Special Enforcement Group (SEG) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Springs Rd and Section House Rd for a speeding violation. This vehicle was operated by Dorian Michael Morgan with Britany Nicole Cantrell as a passenger.
A search of this vehicle resulted in the seizure of 238 grams of heroin, 59 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of marijuana, $6,425 in United States Currency, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.
Morgan (33 yoa) of Morganton was arrested and has been
charged with two counts of Trafficking in Cocaine, two counts of Trafficking in Heroin, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for the Purposes of Possessing, Selling or Delivering Controlled Substances, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession of Marijuana up to One Half Ounce, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Morgan received a $225,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on 05/16/2022.
Cantrell was arrested and has been charged with two counts of Trafficking in Cocaine, two counts of Trafficking in Heroin, Possession of Marijuana up to One Half Ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cantrell was also arrested for outstanding warrants, received a $160,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on 05/16/2022.
