Wingate Captures SAC Regular Season Title, Seeds Set for 2024 Women’s Tennis Championships

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – After recording a perfect 12-0 record, Wingate was crowned the 2024 SAC Women’s Tennis Regular Season Champions. The Bulldogs have won 12 of the last 13 regular season SAC titles, going 137-4 in league play. With the title, Wingate earns the No. 1 seed in the upcoming SAC Women’s Tennis Championships.

Lenoir-Rhyne earns the No. 2 seed after finishing 9-3 in conference play while Limestone takes the No. 3 seed at 9-3 in the SAC. Lenoir-Rhyne won the tiebreaker over Limestone by virtue of a 4-3 head-to-head victory. Tusculum earned the No. 4 seed after recording a record of 8-4, Carson-Newman took the No. 5 seed with an 8-4 record, and Catawba took the No. 6 seed after finishing 8-4 in the SAC. Tusculum won the tiebreaker over CarsonNewman and Catawba for fourth while Carson-Newman earned the tiebreaker between Catawba for fifth based on a comparison of each team’s record against the remaining seeds in the tournament as the three were tied in head-to-head victories.

Newberry earned the No. 7 seed, completing conference action with a 7-5 record. Anderson took the No. 8 seed with a SAC record of 6-6.

The 2024 South Atlantic

Conference Women’s Tennis Championship will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. beginning with quarterfinals on Thursday (April 18), followed by semifinals on Friday (April 19) and finals on Saturday (April 20).
