Mountain View Baptist calls Steven Hill as new pastor

On Sunday, April 14th, Mountain View Baptist Church, Hickory, NC, voted to call Steven Hill as their next Lead Pastor. Steven has served in churches in Texas, Arkansas, and Washington state in multiple pastoral roles. Steven received degrees from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University, and is currently completing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at Midwestern

Baptist Theological Seminary.

Steven and his wife Hayley have two young children. He and Hayley enjoy building relationships and discipling people of all ages. Steven has a deep love for the Word of God and is passionate about the local church, especially in the areas of expository preaching, disciple-making, and vision implementation.

Current Senior Pastor Dr. John Compton and his wife Teresa will be retiring this summer after having served 44 years in pastoral ministry, including 12 years at Mountain View Baptist. Incoming pastor Steven Hill stated,“My family and I are humbled and thrilled at the opportunity to serve alongside such a wonderful team at Mountain View Baptist Church. God is so clearly on the move here, and we’re delighted to call MVBC and Hickory home. Following a godly, faithful leader like Dr. Compton is a tremendous blessing and I am thankful for his willingness to serve as a mentor and friend in the days to come”.
