INSIDERS TELL OK! GEORGE AND AMAL CLOONEY WILL BE CROWNED WITH A SPECIAL HONOR WHEN IT COMES TO PRINCE HARRY AND DUCHESS MEGHAN’S FIRST-BORN
George and Amal Clooney may be godparents to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s baby!
Pop the champagne! Prince Harry and his positively pregnant wife, Duchess Meghan, have made a big decision when it comes to the godparents of their first-born child, with insiders telling OK! that the honors will go to none other than George and Amal Clooney. “They’re much closer than the headlines let on,” shares a source, adding that George has “told a couple of people that he has a strong hunch” that he and his wife will be among those asked to play an important role in the newest royal’s life. After all, that’s what friends are for!
IT’S A GIRL THING
So how did this power quartet come to be? According to reports, George, 57, and Harry, 34, have run in the same philanthropic circles for years, and since adding their S.O.’s to the mix, they’ve become even tighter. On top of regularly meeting up for dinners in London, the Clooneys hosted the duke and duchess at their lavish Lake Como abode this August, where sources say the royals received a crash course in parenting after meeting the couple’s 18-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander. While fun-loving George and Harry have an undeniable bromance, insiders say that its their wives who have become simply inseparable (Amal, 40, even let Meghan, 37, borrow her hairstylist for her big day!). “Meghan is continuously impressed with Amal,” dishes the source, adding that the duchess believes the human rights lawyer “would be an incredible role model for her and Harry’s child.” Indeed, Amal has made as much of an impression on Meghan as she has on her hubby’s own blood. The Syriana actor’s cousin, Ben Breslin, tells OK!, “Amal is beautiful and wonderful and a great addition to our family. We’ve loved her ever since we met her. He sure picked a winner.” In a testament to their strong ties, Harry and Meghan are expected to attend a dinner party next month at George and Amal’s London home (with mutual pals Barack and Michelle Obama on the star-studded guest list), where insiders say the royal couple could pop the godparent question. And George, who’s said to be loving fatherhood, already has his cousin’s seal of approval. “I’m all for it,” gushes Ben. “He’d make a wonderful godfather!” OK!
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE George has shared that he’s “godfather to about 20” kids, which is why he and Amal are “a shoo-in to be asked,” the source says.
