Mixed epoxies give off heat as the resin and hardener polymerize,

and since heat accelerates curing, the patch may cure quickly, especially on a hot day. To mitigate in these conditions, keep the epoxy components (before mixing) in a cool place. Put mixed components on ice, if possible. —Ray Tschoepe
