Marion Moorhead Painter, 93, passed away peacefully in Palm Harbor, FL surrounded by her family on October 31, 2018. She was born in Melbourne, FL in 1925, graduated from Ocala High in 1943, and from Florida State University in 1947 where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was in the first graduating class after Florida State College for Women became the coed Florida State University. She was married to Parker Painter, Jr. her beloved husband for 45 years. He was an electrical engineer and a graduate of Massachuse­tts Institute of Technology. She is predecease­d by her husband Parker and her parents James Robert Moorhead, Jr, and Sarah Elizabeth Howard of Ocala, FL. She is survived by her children Alison Elizabeth Painter, Parker Robert Painter (Ella) and Howard Eddins Painter (Marilia); her grandchild­ren, Mark Biel, Elizabeth Biel, Romeo Hill, Alysha Painter and Carol Painter; her sister Bobbie Henry; and her nieces and nephew Carol Lee, Bob Henry and Jean Theobald. Her family is hosting a reception Sunday November 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 at Westminste­r Winter Park where she lived for many years. Westminste­r Winter Park Towers is located at 1111 South Lakemont Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792. In lieu of flowers she requested donations be made in her name payable to the “Westminste­r Winter Park Employees Holiday Fund” which can be delivered to the same address listed above.
