Keenan Stringer, 95, lately of Grayson, GA passed away Tuesday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. The youngest of nine children, he was born and raised in Metcalf, GA. He later moved to Miami, FL only to have Uncle Sam come calling. He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during WWII and fought in The Battle of The Bulge. He relocated to Orlando, FL after the war. He met and was married to the love of his life, Matilda “Maud” for 51 years. He worked for and retired from a small independen­t Telephone company, Winter Park Telephone in 1983. He was a longtime member of the Eola Masonic Lodge in Orlando. He and his wife Maud were longtime members of St. Paul’s United Methodist church in Orlando, serving lay leader for many years.

Keenan was preceded in death by his wife Maud and son Edwin “Butch” Barker. He is survived by his son Andy Stringer (Maria) Apopka, FL, daughter Pam Ives (Paul) Lawrencevi­lle GA, and granddaugh­ters Sylena Thomas (Kevin) Zephyrhill­s, FL, MacKenzie Milledgevi­lle, GA and Madison Ives Atlanta, GA.

Visitation and reception will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park Gotha, FL on Monday November 12, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm, with graveside service immediatel­y following. A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held at Grayson United Methodist Church Grayson, GA on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 11:30 am.
