Orange County robbery being investigated

Orange County deputies are investigating after a man was “battered” and robbed at an Orange County apartment complex Saturday, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the Los Robles Apartments at 4500 Silver Star Road about 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

A man who said he was at the apartment complex for a barbecue told deputies his phone was stolen during a struggle with a man who “battered” him, deputies said in a news release.

The suspect, who the Sheriff’s Office has not named, was stopped by deputies as he tried to leave the complex, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to deputies.
