Free Prime Expo event focuses on life after 50

The free Orlando Sentinel Prime Expo for “making the most of life after 50” is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Orange County Convention Center.

Inserted into today’s newspaper is a special print section with all the details about the event. You also can find informatio­n at www.primeexpoo­rlando.com.

There will be exhibits and talks on financial services, travel, medical, food, retirement communitie­s, home goods and more. There also will be giveaways, food and drink samples and entertainm­ent.

A special breakfast and panel discussion with informatio­n for veterans older than 50 is planned for 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. It is free, but requires a separate registrati­on at OrlandoSen­tinel.com/Prime Veterans.

Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell also will talk and take questions at 2 p.m. in Room 414-B at the convention center. His topic will be “The 21st Century Newsroom: Covering politics in Florida — the Good, the Bad and the Crazy!”

Inside the Newsroom columnist John Cutter of the Orlando Sentinel will meet readers and take questions at 10 a.m., noon, and 3:30 p.m. on the expo floor at the Sentinel’s booth. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Valencia Ballroom in the West Concourse of the convention center at 9800 Internatio­nal Drive.
