Nutrition, Exercise & Relaxation

-

What have you done for yourself lately? Have you taken the time to relax and smell the roses? Have you taken the time to eat fruits and vegetables? Have you engaged in a yoga class, walked a couple of blocks or indulged in any form of exercise recently? If the answer is no to one or more of these questions you are not loving yourself enough. It’s important to take time to become totally disconnected from the world and focus on yourself. Say things out loud like I am going for an hour drive today; I am going to feed the ducks in the park; I am lying out by the pool for two hours. Why? Because you are the master of your universe and this is your time to love on you. Sometimes, putting you first means that it may be necessary to say no to someone else in order to say yes to yourself. No amount of love given to you could ever be enough for someone who doesn’t love themself first. Besides, if you don’t take care of yourself how are you going to be able to care for others? It’s not a hard thing to do, actually it’s fairly easy. First, you have to commit to making an appointment with yourself each day. I suggest once in the morning and once at night. Tomorrow morning, start with a 15 minute meditation session followed by a cup of green tea. In the evening, when you arrive home from work, you can dance in place for 15 minutes or jump on the treadmill followed by eating a fresh piece of fruit. You have to start somewhere and once you do, you will be setting yourself up to receive more than the love you think you deserve. The steps you take now will play a part in your future performance tomorrow! Make it all about you today, go ahead, it’s okay!
